We can’t do good endodontics without having a good access, and we can’t have a good access without being able to see where we are going.
Dr Matthew Youssef from ARIA Dental Education is better known for his skills with implants however he is also an exceptional general dentist and today on the podcast he shares some tips on how to better visualise and systemise our endodontic access cavities to ensure we are doing low stress, thorough and efficient endodontics.
Tips for Tomorrow:
1:30 – Maximise your Visibility – Always have a minimum of 3 holes for your rubber dam
4:00 – Probe the CEJ to find the level of the pulp chamber
4:50 – Take BW’s for endo
5:20 – Be mindful of your access cavity – Aim for access the width of your pulp horns
Dr. Matt graduated with both a Masters of Clinical Dentistry from La Trobe University and a Bachelor of Health Science.
He has learnt from World Leaders in Oral Implantology, is currently completing his Postgraduate Diploma in Implantology and is also a gIDE Master Clinician in Implantology.
Matthew is trained in PRF techniques by Dr. Joseph Choukroun, in Implantology and Restorative aspects by Dr. Sascha Jovanovik, Dr. Luke Villata, Dr. Praveen Nathaniel, and Dr. Joseph Kan.
