Zack Abbott

CEO and co-founder of ZBiotics, a company developing bioengineered probiotics founded in 2016.

ZBiotics' product, which breaks down an unwanted byproduct of alcohol, is the first in a line of products ZBiotics is creating to help consumers actively engage in healthier lives.

Beyond alcohol, ZBiotics is working on other engineered probiotics that will give the body new biological functions: everything from helping the body resist environmental toxins and infection (e.g., lead-contaminated water, radiation) to producing useful and health-promoting nutrients (e.g., fiber, high-quality protein).

By building genetically engineered products that solve real human needs, he hopes to reverse the misinformation and lack of understanding that has contributed to the negative public perception of GMOs.

Zack has a PhD in microbiology & immunology from the University of Michigan, where he enjoyed his research untangling complex and elegant webs of bacterial gene regulation. He holds a bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley, where he double-majored in immunology and classical art & archaeology

Many entrepreneurs give up during the low times. Having a mentor who can re-inspire and motivate you is crucial. The right mentor can help you, quite literally, grow your business.

Anyone can accelerate their learning curve by learning from a mentor's experiences, This could save you time and money and help you avoid mistakes. Another value mentors can provide is their relationships. An advisor may be able to introduce you to vendors, clients, and other resources.
