This wine was one of the best bang-for-the-buck Australian Shiraz wines of the 2000s.
The 2008 worldwide economic meltdown hit Australia worse than most places.
Ben Riggs was the winemaker bake in 2013 and he has returned in 2023.
The Woop Woop Shiraz was a bargain in 2008 and is still a bargain in 2013.
This is a Shiraz that is bright and alive with fresh flavors and interesting textures.

This is a cult wine, it would wine all kinds of awards in Europe and when it was finally released in the US by Aldi back in 2018 it sold out in a matter of hours.
That was at the height of the Rosé craze and today it is available at Aldi, you do not have to rush out to get it.
It is not my favorite style of Rosé, but I can see it is a solid well-made Rosé.

For years they sold their grapes to other wineries.
Today, excellent wineries are making terrific wine in Lake County.
Vigilance is one of the brands from Shannon Ridge, a family-owned winery that is sustainably farmed and will be 100% certified organic by the summer of 2022.
The grape clone used is the same as in parts of Bordeaux and New Zealand.
But the Vigilance Red Hills AVA Sauvignon Blanc 2020-An Excellent California Sauv Blanc tastes like its own unique self.

Patricia Green Cellars Estate wines sell for between$40 and $150.
The Patricia Green Cellars Dollar Bills Only Pinot Noir 2020-You Are Going To Want This One! is a wine I found for $14.99, and it contains the high-end juice they decommissioned from their top wines.

Primitivo and Zinfandel are both clones of an old grape from Croatia.
Close but not the same. The Grifone Primitivo is sourced from Puglia in the heel of Italy's boot.

Constellation Brands, a huge wine and spirits company, sold its value-priced wine portfolio to E and J Gallo, the largest wine company in America, for over a billion dollars.
Regulators held up the deal since the sail gave Gallo too much of the budget wine market.
But the deal is finally complete.
One by-product of the sale is that most wine distributors that handled the wine for Constellation are not the same ones that work with Gallo.
Many of the past vintages for the wines involved in the sale are now in cut-out bins at sell-out prices.

$5.99 from Trader Joe's, it is a DOC wine from the Delle Venzie region of northeast Italy.
Alto Adige is the most famous and pricey Pinot Grigio region in Italy, and Delle Venzie is just south of there.
This is a summer cooler, a wine that you can serve fresh from the refrigerator.
Serving most wines too cold is not good; the cold masks the flavors and the aromas.
You will miss half of what an expensive wine has to offer if you drink it too cold.
The Villa Borghetti Grigio Luna Pinot Grigio 2020 - TJ's Italian Summer Cooler is ok with being a summer cooler.
It has enough flavor and enough lip-smacking acidity to beat the heat.
Cool this wine down and enjoy in the heat of the summer.

A 14.99 at Trader Joe's, a typical Diamond Mountain Cabernet, sells for between $55 and $350.
Is this a $55 Cab selling for $14.99? Probably not. Those wines have a price based on the reputation of the winery that made them. This is a mystery wine.
Does that mean this wine does not taste good? Nope, it is delicious.
