Hey there, welcome everyone. As the intro says, this new segment of the Learn More, Earn More Business Growth Podcast is going to be brief and it's going to be power-packed. We're basically going to bring you bite-sized, easy-to-digest, small chunks of marketing tips, tricks, hacks, anything we can do to help you grow your business faster and make more money. Today, eight calls to action to use in your social media posts. So one of the things that we hear from people all the time is, "I know I should be posting, but what should I be doing? What should I be saying?" Well, we're actually going to talk about that a little bit deeper in an upcoming episode, but today we're just going to give you eight calls to action.

One of the things you've got to know about posting to any of the platforms, their algorithms reward when people respond to your posts. So when they like, comment, or share. So the more you leverage, intentionally, calls to action, the more likely you are to get people to actually engage with your content and get more reach, meaning Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, all the platforms, they're going to actually give you more views, more exposure for free because the platforms are saying, "Hey, other people seem to be engaging with this. They must love it. This must be good stuff. We're going to give you more exposure in the platform." So I'm going to share with you eight calls to action. But first I'm going to give you a big don't do, which is avoid what's called engagement bait.

Whether you're saying this in the text or whether you're putting it in a video, believe it or not, Facebook specifically actually listens to videos, and your go-lives as well, and they're looking for you... If you say, "Comment below or please share," boom, that's going to negatively affect you in the algorithm. So do not do that. Don't specifically say to comment below or please share. Facebook finds that annoying. We all find that annoying, to be honest with you. So here are some alternative calls to action that you can use. How can I help you? What are your thoughts? What do you think? Here's another one, using three emojis, describe your weekend holiday plans. Want to learn more? Click the link in the bio. Here's another one I see that's really effective. Tag a friend who inspires you, or sometimes you'll see people post a meme, caption this. Basically, you're inviting people to be creative and contribute to the narrative that you're trying to create with them. You're creating a conversation, basically.

Here's another one. And I'm going to give you a case study on this one. Can you help me decide, should I do X or should I do Y? Let me give you a case study on this one. This is kind of a variation on should I do X or should I do Y. I recently did a LinkedIn poll, I did a poll on LinkedIn, rather, about your email inbox. And all it said was, "In my experience, there are two types of people in this world, inbox zero and inbox 32,796," a random number I picked, of course. And then I said, "Which one are you?" Now, let me give you some stats on this. 7,400 followers, as of the time of this recording is how many followers I have on LinkedIn. Out of those followers, I got over 3,800 views. I got 162 votes and I got seven comments.

And to put some context on this, had I sent out an email blast to my email list, let's just say the number's the same, 7,400 people on the list, no way would I have gotten anywhere close to that many people opening the email. That LinkedIn post was seen by over 50% of my followers. So for just a brief moment on that day, I got nearly 4,000 people to remember that I exist, that I'm here. So for just a moment, it's like I leased space in their brain for just a few seconds to nearly 4,000 people. Now, had I just posted a picture or a comment or a regular text post, I would have gotten nowhere near 3,800 views. But because I did something to invoke response, engagement, started a discussion. LinkedIn gave me 3,800 views of my post that day.
