It’s the 1st of March 1989, 82-year-old Gwendoline Mitchelhill is walking down Military Rd Mosman, NSW, Australia on her way home from shopping. She enters the foyer of her building, and as she goes to open her door, she is struck on the head with a hammer. She is repeatedly struck over the head and body and her attacker flees with her purse containing $100. Although she is still alive when schoolboys find her and raise the alarm, she dies later when police and ambulance arrive.
