Tooth & Nail All Purpose All Star: Randy Torres
Play • 1 hr 57 min

Lead singers tend to get and often deserve the most attention in most bands. They carry a large burden and the spotlight is not at all easy to manage, but some of the most talented and valuable people are not the ones in the limelight. Randy Torres has done it all in the Tooth & Nail world, and he has done it well.  Guitarist for Project 86, engineer for Aaron Sprinkle, A&R for the label, touring musician for Anberlin, composer, sound designer and more.  Coming from a supportive environment in SoCal at just the right time in the late 90's, Randy has been able to make a great career for himself and that career is marked mainly by how personable and likable and easy to work with he is. He has been a great inspiration of how to be for many people including me.

283 - Miraculous Forgiveness (2015 Charleston Church Massacre)
Chris Singleton, former professional athlete, author and motivational speaker lost his mother in the infamous “Charleston Church Shooting” (Summer of 2015 at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church).  Chris recounts that dreadful day of losing his mother and shares how those moments transpired behind those dreadful closed doors. Chris, son of slain Pastor Sharonda Coleman-Singleton, speaks on the miracle of forgiveness and how folks like Dylan Roof (shooter) are the way they are because of being misled and misinformed.   Together, Joey and Chris speculate how far along society is in bridging the race gap.  **Other episodes with related content listed at very bottom.** In honor of black history month, we celebrate these lives (along with their families): Pastor Sharonda Coleman-Singleton (45) Pastor Clementa C. He is an author, speaker, consultant, and therapist. Chuck is married to Sara and has two teenage daughters. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Why does narcissism seem to thrive in our churches? We've seen the news stories and heard the rumors. Maybe we ourselves have been hurt by a narcissistic church leader. It's easy to throw the term around and diagnose others from afar. But what is narcissism, really? And how does it infiltrate the church? Chuck DeGroat has been counseling pastors with Narcissistic Personality Disorder, as well as those wounded by narcissistic leaders and systems, for over twenty years. He knows firsthand the devastation narcissism leaves in its wake and how insidious and painful it is. In When Narcissism Comes to Church, DeGroat takes a close look at narcissism, not only in ministry leaders but also in church systems. He offers compassion and hope for those affected by its destructive power and imparts wise counsel for churches looking to heal from its systemic effects. DeGroat also offers hope for narcissists themselves―not by any shortcut, but by the long, slow road of genuine recovery, possible only through repentance and trust in the humble gospel of Jesus ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Find more stories regarding the IFB movement by visiting: preacherboysdoc.com ( https://app.redcircle.com/shows/a23caa9f-f71e-4f4b-9323-1d3be04bef15/ep/500c40fa-b6d6-4d75-9130-020f80762870/preacherboysdoc.com ) https://www.facebook.com/preacherboysdoc https://twitter.com/preacherboysdoc https://www.instagram.com/preacherboysdoc/ To connect with a community who share the Preacher Boys Podcast mission to expose abuse in the IFB, join the OFFICIAL Preacher Boys Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1403898676438188/ Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/preacher-boys-podcast/donations Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brands Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
