352: It's Time To Create Your 10 Year Vision
Do you have a clear vision for what the next 10 years of your life will be like? If not, would you like my help creating one? If you have one, do you think it would be beneficial to revisit it? Last week, I came across a journal entry I wrote back in 2016. It was titled “The Miracle Morning Movement 10 Year Vision.” When I reread it, I was inspired by some of the possibilities, amazed to realize how much of it had already come true, and reminded that we can all benefit from creating and maintaining a 10-year vision that drives our behavior each day. I want you to be able to look back on this moment and say to yourself, “I did it. I got clear on the life I was committed to creating, what I needed to do, who I needed to become to create the most fulfilling life I could imagine, and I made it happen.” Today, Shawn joins me to talk about the astounding problems with our healthcare system, the importance of diet and exercise in illness prevention, and the major cultural changes that need to happen to help us become a healthier society. KEY TAKEAWAYS * First, you’re going to hear a detailed example of a 10-year vision to show you what it looks like when things come to fruition. * Then we’re going to explore why creating a 10-year vision is worth your time. * Finally, you’re going to learn a step-by-step process you can use to create a 10-year vision of your own. In order to grow, you need failure. Understand and accept failure as a part of life. We often experience that learning is more effective in failure than in success because failure teaches us what works and what does not. When we embrace our strengths or limitations – we become better. People are often so afraid they’ll fail at something that they don’t try. Don’t be one of those people. Everyone has failed at something in his or her life, but not everyone tries again and again. World hard every day to reach your goals and you will. Keep going and you will find success. Subscribe! How to Trade Expectations for Appreciation | A Fireside Chat with Tony and Sage Robbins (Part 2)
Tony and Sage sit down for an intimate fireside chat to unpack the stress many of us feel around the holidays. We all have rules and beliefs about how things are supposed to be or how people are supposed to be. And when they do not meet our expectations, we suffer. The holidays can hold a magnifying glass over these expectations, whether that be family dynamics, budgets, or how well the turkey turned out. Listen as Tony and Sage suggest a new approach: To replace expectation with appreciation, to lead with gratitude and thanksgiving instead of worry, fear or anger. Sage eloquently calls us to take pause on the list-making and to-do’s associated with getting ready for the holidays. And Tony provides us with an invaluable tool for how to get more joy out of each individual moment and experience. It’s time to make a decision about what kind of holiday you want to have, to bring a new level of enjoyment for yourself and to be a blessing to those you love most. “What’s wrong is always available, so is what’s right.” - Tony Robbins About The Fireside Chat Series: In the 1930s and 40s, a time when the country was struggling even more than it is today, we had an amazing leader named FDR. He began doing evening radio programs called “fireside chats,” designed to communicate directly with the American people. At that time, 90% of people in the U.S at that time had a radio. Today, 96% of people have a cell phone and nearly all have internet access. Instead of being unified and watching all the same things, and having a collective experience, now we're all kind of separated. And we can see division in our culture. We desperately need a form of unity, a form of connection, more humanity and more kindness in the world. Tony and Sage thought to bring back this time-honored tradition of a fireside chat as a means of unity and compassion. We’re entering the winter season, drawing inward into our homes and into ourselves, reflecting on the hardships and blessings alike this unique year has brought. In this three-part series, you will hear them dispel their hopes and dreams for you this holiday season, as well as share some of Tony’s powerful tools and strategies to not only survive the coming months, but to step up and thrive.

624 - How to Be a Supportive Partner
In this episode, we look at how to be a supportive partner.  Written By: Sophie Sumpter | https://www.instagram.com/sorosum/ Sponsor:  Head over to _www.betterhelp.com/tinyleaps_ and use the discount code tiny leaps to get 10% off your first month. That's  _www.betterhelp.com/tinyleaps_ coupon code tiny leaps. The Problem: Choosing to share your life with a romantic partner looks different for everyone. Cohabitating, long distance relationships, choosing to have children or not. There are a lot of choices and none of them are necessarily “right” or “wrong”. However, there is one common denominator among every successful relationship: your partner will one day face challenges that are outside of your control and outside of your experience. So how do you support them when you can’t move a roadblock out of their path? Is it even your responsibility to move it? Digging Deeper: Throughout the course of your relationship, the type of support that your partner needs may change. Mental illness, chronic pain, cancer, or family deaths name a few of the unpredictable things that may throw your relationship for a loop. According to the National Law Review, stress about finances, parenting disagreements, and household responsibilities are some of the most common challenges faced in relationships. To make things worse, COVID-19 has heightened anxieties leading to an uptick in divorce rates (National Law Review, 2020). According to the New York Post, the number of people seeking divorce from March to June of this year was 34% higher than March to June of 2019 (Rosner, 2020). Newly weds seem to be the demographic seeking divorce at a higher rate than ever before (Rosner, 2020). The Solution Supporting your partner through a difficult situation involves first realizing that we all have problems that we go through. This seems like a general statement that we are all aware of, but it’s important to acknowledge and be reminded of. Our partner’s struggles may be similar to or the same problem as the ones we are facing, but their experience is entirely independent of our own. It can be easy to ignore this when we get so caught up in our own day to day struggle. We may experience the exact same thing as another person, such as the pandemic, but no two experiences are exactly the same. SOURCES: Medina, Raphael. Supporting Your Partner: Long Term Illness. David Meltzer | How to Buy Happiness by Shopping for the RIGHT Things
In today’s episode, we cover the myth about success with David Meltzer. David is the Co-founder of Sports 1 Marketing and formerly served as CEO of the renowned Leigh Steinberg Sports & Entertainment agency, which was the inspiration for the movie Jerry Maguire.   While “money can’t buy happiness” is a phrase most people in today’s world are familiar with, many of us still chase after money as if it will buy us happiness - so what is it about this truth we can’t seem to let go of and what can you do every day to lead a more fulfilling life without money?   What to Listen For What is the biggest myth about success?  What does it mean to “shop for the right things” and why is that phrase so important when you start attaining financial success? How do you start practicing gratitude when you feel like you have nothing to be grateful for? What are the 3 votes you make each day that influence whether or not you can live a successful, fulfilling life? What 3 concepts can you internalize that will give you motivation on a daily basis? What 5 daily practices can you start implementing today to help you achieve your dreams?   We grow up being told that money doesn’t buy happiness and yet we are surrounded and bombarded with messages about the crap we need to buy in order to make our lives better (aka to make us happier). And many of us are raised in a culture where we expect to give/receive material gifts every year (Christmas, birthdays, etc) because they’ll bring us joy (aka happiness). We have to be able to recognize these signals and then we must be willing to take steps to live outside of them - aware of them, but dismissive of how silly they are.   A Word From Our Sponsors Share your vulnerabilities, victories, and questions in our 17,000-member private Facebook group at theartofcharm.com/challenge. How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big by Scott Adams   [Self-Growth] {#249} #BriefAudioBook - 30 November 2020 How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big Kind of the Story of My Life Scott Adams 17 min read overview Have you ever taken a look back at your life and wondered why you haven't gone much further along in life? Well, we've all had one or two instances when we thought we should have gotten more out of life than we currently do. There are times when we take a look back at the previous two or three years and wonder where it all went wrong. But in most cases, nothing went wrong. We're just not patient enough to see that every failure we encounter comes with bits of opportunities and lessons essential to set us up for greater success. Scott Adams has likely failed at more things than anyone else you’ve ever met. So how did he go from hapless office worker and serial failure to the creator of Dilbert, one of the world’s most famous syndicated comic strips, in just a few years? In “How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big”, Adams shares the strategy he has used since he was a teen to invite failure in, to embrace it, then pick its pocket.
