087: “Nesting”: Co-Parenting Under The Same Roof with Julie Cole
Play • 35 min

In this episode of The KICK-ASS Stepmom Podcast, Julie Cole, mom of 6, blogger and founder of Mabel's Labels talks about divorce and her decision to adopt the “nesting” co-parenting style after she and her husband decided to end their marriage.

If you’re not familiar, “nesting” is when two parents are no longer in a romantic relationship, but choose to co-parent their kids in the matrimonial home. Each parent attends the home during their allotted parenting time and lives somewhere else when it is not.

I just love getting into a peek of the many different types of co-parenting relationships and this one was no different.

32. Mindset of Fear
Okay today, we're going to talk about the F word. No, not that one, but the other F word fear. Oh goodness. That was really cheesy. Anyways. I want to talk about fear because I'm a little obsessed with it, mainly because it's one of those human experiences that we equally want to get rid of, but also need it in order to understand our overall purpose. So if you've ever heard the phrase, "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger." Well, that's really trying to invoke a fearless attitude, but here's why I don't want you to be fearless. FearLESS, broken down is the absence of fear. But if fear is missing, how do we know if we are in danger? Danger of being in the wrong place? Or perhaps in danger of being on the right path? Perhaps what if we looked at fear as more of a guiding principle, as in what does fear want me to do right now? *In order to have fear be a guiding principle, we need to understand it first.
