Cam Smith is a mountain athlete from Crested Butte, CO. In the last few years, Cam has established himself as one of the best American ski mountaineering athletes in the world. He has also had a great early start to his trail running career. Adam Campbell | The Journey of Healing
Adam Campbell is a Canadian mountain athlete living in Squamish, BC. He was one of my first inspirations in my early years as an aspiring pro trail runner. He's had an amazing career as an athlete but in the last several years, Adam has endured a few very heavy life experiences. In 2016, Adam had a near death fall in the mountains and in 2020, Adam lost his wife in a backcountry skiing accident. In this conversation, we talk about how Adam has dealt with the grief and guilt from the accident and how we can grow from overwhelming sadness.

Jill Wheatley is a Canadian mountaineer who spends much of her time climbing in the Himalaya. Jill and I met in 2019 and have developed a friendship and mutual respect. I have grown to admire Jill deeply for the person she is and the lessons she's learned and shared from a life changing injury she incurred in 2014. While teaching a physical education class in Bavaria, Jill suffered a traumatic brain injury that left her 70% blind and in the hospital for months. Jill has never regained her vision, but has returned to the life of her dreams, climbing, skiing, trail running, and generally living a life of purpose and passion. This is the story of how we can use the lowest moments of our lives to launch into periods of deep inspiration and growth.

Courtney Dauwalter | Hardrock & UTMB Recap
Courtney Dauwalter is one of the greatest ultra runners on the planet. In the history of the sport, there are few athletes who have been as successful and versatile as Courtney - competing and winning races of all different distances and formats. Most recently, Courtney won and broke the course record at the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc in what was one of the great ultra performances of all-time, finishing 7th overall. This was her second victory at the world's most important event. We talk all about the UTMB victory in this conversation but also spend time on the Hardrock 100, where Courtney unfortunately succumbed to a DNF earlier in the summer. Hear what Courtney learned there and how that disappointment led to a transcendental victory at UTMB only six weeks later.

Abby Hall | Unsupported on the John Muir Trail
Abby Hall is an ultrarunner and graphic designer from Boulder, CO. This past summer Abby tackled the 220 mile John Muir Trail (Nuumu Poyo) in California in unsupported fashion. And in the year of the FKT, I think Abby’s JMT speed record attempt was maybe the one I found the most inspiring. And it was inspiring not only because of Abby’s proud solo style on the trail but also how she told the story of the history of the trail and paid respects to that heritage both in her attempt and on social media.

She's achieved great things in the sport including winning one of the world's most important races, the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run, which she did in 2014. While she's been on the top for a long time, Stephanie has also been through some tough challenges both in her personal and athletic life. Last year, 2019, was a particular tough year for her as she went through both a surgery and a divorce and all the psychological and emotional pain that came as a result. We talk a lot about what she learned from such a shitty year and how she feels she's emerged a better and stronger version of herself. Stephanie recently announced that she's expecting a baby boy in 2021, so we also spend a lot of time discussing motherhood and how it will relate to her future as an athlete. This one is full of good vibes.
