Ajamu Webster grew up in Los Angeles. As a junior in high school, he liked math and science and he wanted to be an engineer after hearing about the profession from a neighbor.

He moved to Kansas City to go work for Burns and McDonnell between 1980-1984, Butler Manufacturing until 1988 before he started to work for himself.  His company is called Dubois Consultants,  named after W.E.B. Dubois Learning Center. Ajamu had tutored at the center when he arrived in KC. 

The name Ajamu is of Nigerian decent and essentially means he who fights the battle and wins the war.  His personal battle every day is be to be a better person and manager.

He and his team are hoping to solve the issue of water quality in parts of the world where people don’t have access to clean drinking water.
