How to Visualize Weightloss
Play • 35 min

I have a weightloss secret. It's visualization, and it sounds woo.

You might even think you aren't "into that," but the problem is YOU ARE DOING IT RIGHT NOW.

Think about this statement.

I'm losing all my weight in 2021 by doing that simple shit Corinne tells me to do each week.

What popped into your head? "That sounds good, but I always fail." "It's not as easy as that." "Her shit is too simple for my big ass weight problem."

Thoughts like those come with a mental picture.

The images you replay over and over in your mind can either help or hurt your weightloss.

Keep imagining yourself stress-eating Oreos at night, and you'll find yourself eating your face off without even stopping to ask yourself if this is what you really want.

In today’s podcast, I’ll teach you easy fixes to busted ass visualization processes. If you're going to visualize, you might as well learn how to do it like a boss.

257: Reduce inflammation, Recharge Metabolism and Create Balance with Intuitive Fasting w/ Dr. Will Cole
If You Want To Start Allowing Your Body To Do What It Was Created For You Should: * Use Dr. Will’s 4-week fasting guide to clean out your cells * Start listening for your intuition and making notes of the foods that make your body feel great * Find your own sweet spot when it comes to metabolic flexibility and fueling your body with what feels good for you * Integrate wellness into your life infused with a true knowledge of what your body loves and hates If you want to feel good, have energy throughout the entire day, get a good night's sleep, and successfully achieve your ideal weight, it is essential to get your inflammatory levels under control. Inflammation is the driver of most major diseases, but the good news is that you can use food and fasting to fight inflammation and regulate your hormones. Gain Metabolic Flexibility and Find Food Peace Dr. Will Cole is a leading functional-medicine expert who consults people worldwide and specializes in clinically investigating underlying factors of chronic disease and customizing a functional medicine approach. His new book, Intuitive Fasting, shows how to use the powerful benefits of flexible intermittent fasting to gain metabolic flexibility and find food peace. Intuition Is Key We all have an inflammatory response system that is unique to us, which is why Dr. Will encourages the use of intuitive fasting to learn what your body loves and hates. Fasting allows your cells to clean things up and allows your body to burn fat for fuel first and sugar for fuel when you need it. Dr. Will wants you to use fasting as a way to grow in your intuitive awareness of what feels good for your body specifically so that you can adopt fasting practices into your life long term. The combination of flexible, vacillating, intermittent fasting, along with a nutrient-rich ketotarian diet, can help you find your unique sweet spot, increase your metabolic flexibility, and fuel your body with the foods you love. Not Another Fad Diet While the idea of fasting may seem like another fad diet, it couldn’t be further from that. Our bodies and genetics are designed to make the most of fasting in a healthy way, and the benefits of fasting are literally coded into our DNA. In addition to fasting, a ketotarian diet can mimic the same benefits of fasting, allowing for more powerful results. Finding the right foods for your body and when to eat them can help stop inflammation in its tracks and allow you to really get aligned with what your body needs from you. Have you ever tried fasting? Are you looking to have your intuition guide you in the way you take back control of your health? Share your thoughts on Dr. Will Cole’s Intuitive Fasting framework with me in the comments section of the episode page. Quotes: “Stress eating isn’t intuitive eating. And I want people to get to a place of intuition, a deep knowledge of what their body loves and what their body hates. And a great way to still that noise, to quiet and calm that noise, to recenter yourself and ground yourself, is intermittent fasting or intuitive fasting.” (8:53) “We are all going to be coming into this system of intuitive fasting at different points in our wellness journey.” (12:49) “This is not a fad diet where we are just punishing our body with deep fasts. We are finding that balance, and that is where metabolic flexibility resides.” (18:35) “I really want to encourage people, whether you are going through the things we are talking about or you know someone you love, really wake people up to the fact that these things are overcomeable, improvable, supportable things! And your body is amazingly resilient.” (24:09) “Through the pairing of flexible intermittent fasting and a clean ketogenic diet and clean carb cycling, from there, you can really know what your body loves and what your body hates. You will have a clear knowing, and that to me transcends a protocol or a diet or a plan.” (30:49) In This Episode * How to start intuitive fasting and why it works so well for gaining metabolic flexibility (7:10) * Recommendations for your fasting journey after the initial first four weeks (12:32) * Which life-giving foods you should be focusing on and how you should be eating (14:10) * Benefits that you can expect when increasing your metabolic flexibility through fasting (19:20) * Why becoming more intuitive about your health is the cornerstone of sustainable wellness (29:40) Resources Mentioned: Dr. Will Cole Website Intuitive Fasting by Dr. Will Cole Follow Dr. Will on Instagram | Facebook | Twitter Related Episodes: Essentially You Episode #133: Understanding Inflammation and Your Individual Food Triggers with Dr. Will Cole Essentially You Episode #32: Calm Inflammation with the Ketotarian Diet with Dr. Will Cole Other Resources: Check out the full show notes page Keep up with everything Dr. Mariza Follow Dr. Mariza on Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Youtube Podcast production & marketing support by the team at Counterweight Creative

251: How Feeling Your Emotions Can Change Your Relationship with Graham Chalfant
Everyone wants connection — we’re hardwired for it as humans! But we can only connect as deeply with others as we’ve connected with ourselves. Strong relationships start by going within, feeling our emotions and being willing to open up and share with our partners. On this week’s podcast, I have a very, very special husband! We’re talking with you today together and sharing some very personal details about our marriage and how feeling emotions has changed our relationship for the better. Graham comes from a background where emotions weren’t expressed, and I come from an Italian family that was very expressive. For so many years, we both saw the other as not emotional enough or too emotional. Learning to feel, honor and share our emotions has deepened our connection so much and been so transformational for us. In this episode, Graham shares what helped him learn to process his emotions, how that’s changed his response to different situations and the changes we’ve both seen in our relationship. Listen to discover: * How relationships can help us overcome childhood issues when we approach them with consciousness * The importance of raw, open communication in a relationship * Somatic processing and the power of feeling emotions in the body * Navigating anger and stress in a relationship * How feeling emotions deepens intimacy (both emotional and physical) By the way, Graham did all of this work on his own (no bonus points for having a spouse who is a therapist and coach!). Which means YOU can do this too! We’re all born with the ability to feel our emotions, but we have to tune in with intention instead of running away from them. When we do, we’ll find they stop coming out sideways and are instead an invitation into deeper connection with others. “When we engage in a relationship with another human being, our childhood issues are going to rear up. That person is here to help us work through those childhood issues.” - Michelle Chalfant “Once our youngest child left the house, then it all slowed down and it became more apparent to me that I needed to figure out this ‘feeling’ thing.” - Graham Chalfant “I learned I could just sit with it and in 30 seconds, that heaviness would literally melt away.” - Graham Chalfant “Everybody has the ability to feel emotions. At some point along our life journey, we turn them off and turn them down.” - Michelle Chalfant “When you feel an emotion without building a story around it, the emotion goes through you in 90 seconds.” - Michelle Chalfant Resources Episode #42: Inviting Your Relationship into The Adult Chair with Michelle and Graham Chalfant Episode #49: Am I Fraud?
