So, we all know how the career change process works, right?

Here’s a simplified version:

  • You feel stuck in your job
  • You start to identify what you want
  • You try to work things out with your company
  • You do some networking
  • You land a job interview
  • You get a job offer
  • You accept the job offer
  • You life happily ever after

The problem is that it doesn’t always work this way.

In fact, our guest today worked hard to find a great role within her organization. After networking internally, she was finally got the job offer - but then she turned it down.

What?

It might not make sense now, but turning down that offer was one of the best things she did to advance her career.
