Is It Unethical To Lie About Getting Botox?
Play • 28 min

This week we're talking about the horny new HBO series 'Industry', a fave new podcast called 'Bad Gays', and New York magazine's investigation into so-called 'False Memory Syndrome'. Then it's onto our favourite topic: celebrities and Botox, in the wake of Jennifer Lopez's vehement denial that she's had any work done. Enjoy!

Dinesh Palipana // Double degrees, defying the odds and Doctors with Disabilities
Today’s guest was actually a yayborhood nomination from one of our most active contributors affectionately known as Dana Saurus or Dana Pham. Dana so generously sent a whole list of suggestions for guests a while back and this is one that has finally come to fruition. She is the founder of Junior Doctor’s Corner and is a doctor herself working to provide much needed support to junior doctors entering the world of medicine and discuss important topics that are often dismissed or taboo. JDC also has its own podcast so make sure to check that out if there are any other young doctors listening in. Her nomination also hails from the medical world but is not only a doctor, he is one of those rare species who has completed degrees in both medicine AND law – the holy grain combination that very few globally dare to tackle. And if that weren’t enough of a superhuman feat, Dinesh Palipana is also a quadriplegic and disability advocate becoming only the second person with quadriplegia to graduate as a doctor in Australia and the first with a spinal cord injury. Despite a life changing car accident in 2010, Dinesh now works in the Emergency Department of Gold Coast University Hospital and has co-foundedDoctors with Disabilities with two of his colleagues. He tells the story so beautifully himself so I’ll stop there but I hope you find his zest for life and indelible positivity as uplifting as I did. Ps The audio is a bit dicky at times – the joys of Zoom strike again – so excuse a few spots where it’s a bit muffled.

LOVE AIN'T ENOUGH PEOPLE
Happy Tuesday Lifers! This is our last episode for a few weeks because it is time for Laura to go and birth a small human! And we can't wait to see the little cherub once it is earth side!! ( We will also see if our recent psychic medium David was correct in his prediction of boy or girl) But we will be back before you know it talking all about Lauras birth story! Ok, so let's talk love! We are brought up being told that "Love is all you need", but the older we get we have to wonder, is it? Now don't get us wrong, you're looking at two of the biggest lovers this side of the border (no, literally, we went on a dating show to find love (successful for one, always too soon for the other) and started a relationships and love podcast because, well, we love love. But we are firm believers that love just isn't enough on its own. In our society and culture, most of us idealise and romanticise relationships and love. We see it as the be all and end all. We are raised with the idea that life involves growing up, getting a job and falling in love. Full stop.  It is portrayed in fairytales, books and movies as part of achieving success. The thing that makes everything better. That heals the pain and makes life easy. In the words of John Lennon, “Love is all we need” But is it!?  If we do walk around with our head in the clouds like Lennon did, we’re more likely to ignore the fundamental values that are crucial to the success and health of a relationship,  things such as honesty, trust, respect, humility, support and commitment towards the person we love. Jump on in as we deep dive into why we think relationships needs more than just those four little letters. If you're still one of those slippery little suckers that have been with us for a long time and haven't left a review, well, why you do us dirty like that!? Please hit subscribe, 5 stars, and share the love, because, well, we love love x Keep your questions rolling in for Ask Uncut and keep delivering those Accidentally Unfiltered's! SEE YOU SOON LOVERS WE MISS YOU ALREADY x

Life After Penguin Bloom
In 2013, Sam Bloom was on holidays in Thailand when the balcony she was standing on collapsed. Sam fell twenty feet and crashed onto the blue tiles below. Her three young sons saw the whole thing. Sam survived but for a while, she wished she hadn’t. Paralysed from the chest down, Sam and her family had to adjust to a new life. One without surfing, running and independence. But then an injured magpie, called Penguin, turned her life around.  She joins Mia to chat about her extraordinary tale of tragedy and resilience. Big Kids: It's Time To Stop Feeling Guilty About Gaming
Welcome to This Glorious Mess Big Kids. A twice-weekly look at parenting as it really is. Confusing, exhausting, inspiring, funny, and full of surprises. So many surprises. "My friends keep telling me how addictive gaming is for teens and that I should get them off the games now! .... Should I? And if I should, how the hell would I?" During the week, we received this listener dilemma and so for today's episode, we took it to an expert, Jocelyn Brewer, mother, teacher, writer, and psychologist with a specialisation in cyberpsychology. Jocelyn speaks to the balance between green time and screen time, when it's time to get off the games, and how to rationalise gaming in a world of worried gaming rhetoric.  CREDITS Hosts:Holly Wainwright & Andrew Daddo Guest:Jocelyn Brewer Producer: Mikayla Floriano and Emmeline Peterson CONTACT US Send your parenting dilemmas to tgm@mamamia.com.au Looking for a community of like-minded parents?
