Week 0 Mountain West Football Recap
Jeremy is back solo once again to recap the three Mountain West games in Week 0. The result was 1-2 for these games but there is plenty of optimistic for the teams that loss with San Jose State who was doubled up against USC but still scored 28 points. Hawaii came from behind to hang and nearly beat Vanderbilt on the road.
San Diego State won but it seems like the same old Aztecs which isn't a bad thing. They do need a better running game and that would go a long way in helping the offense. It is early but winning over Ohio to start 1-0 is good way to start.

2023 Week 0 Mountain West Football Preview
Jeremy is going solo to preview the three Mountain West games this week. There is Ohio traveling to San Diego State, Hawaii going way East to face Vanderbilt, and San Jose State traveling down the coast to face USC.
This will be a tough week for the conference, especially with the USC and Vanderbilt games. Both have high double-digit betting lines. One seems more likely to cover than not. Then there is going to be a sneaky good game with the Aztecs about a field goal favorite over the Bobcats.

The defense brings back a bulk of its starters from last year and while it might not be a top unit nationally, it still could be very good.

2023 Hawaii Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the Hawaii football team which is entering its second year into the Timmy Chang era. The Warriors are embracing the run-n-shoot, so the offense should be a lot more fun, but they do have to replace a few key players.
The defense was really bad last year but they do return nearly the entirety of that unit, and the hope is that it improves to maybe just below average and not the worst in the league on a points per game basis.

Slew of Mountain West coaching news
Jeremy and Matt are back to go over the big coaching news over the past week in the league. The most interesting news is that Bobby Petrino is leaving UNLV for Texas A&M. The Rebels used that move to bring in an up and coming up coach Brennan Marion. Marion comes in from Texas as he was their wide receivers coach, but he has been around and in the Mountain West as the same position at Hawaii a few years ago, plus a stop in Pittsburgh.
New Mexico fills outs its staff by promoting from within its defensive coordinator and Fresno State loses Kirby Moore to Missouri to be it's offensive coordinator.

Arizona Bowl Recap: New Mexico officially hires a new offensive coordinator
Jeremy and Matt are back to recap the Arizona Bowl which saw Wyoming lose in overtime to Ohio, 30-27. The Cowboys may have found a new running back to add to depth with Jordon Vaughn who rushed for a modest 67 yards and also had two touchdowns.

2022 Frisco Bowl Preview: Boise State vs. North Texas
Jeremy and Matt are back to take a look at the Frisco Bowl between North Texas and Boise State. The Broncos have completed just one full bowl game since 2018. There were two years of no game do to COVID-19 issues and in 2018 their bowl game was canceled due to inclement weather after the game started.
The Broncos players haven't been to a bowl game in a while and this is Andy Avalos' first one as a head coach.
North Texas will be playing without its head coach Seth Littrell who was let go after losing the C-USA title game and a career .500 record in Denton.

2022 Week 10 Mountain West Football Recap
Jeremy and Matt are back to go over Week 10 of Mountain West football which saw a bunch of close games, with the exception of Fresno State smoking Hawaii and finally at full strength. Air Force had a huge game by winning the Commander-in-Chief trophy by topping Army.
Boise State couldn't stop BYU's passing game in a close loss. San Jose State struggled to pull away late against Colorado State, and New Mexico's solid defensive effort was wasted, again in a loss to Utah State.

2022 Week 8 Mountain West Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview Week 8 of Mountain West football. There are still a few non-conference games with UNLV traveling to Notre Dame and San Jose State taking on New Mexico State, who is on the schedule once again.
The top games look to be Boise State vs. Air Force as the undefeated in league play Broncos take on a really good Falcons team. Air Force must win if they want to stay in the running for a conference title. The other big game where the loser is likely out of it for the Mountain Divison is Utah State taking on Wyoming for the battle for Jim Bridgers rifle.

Jeremy and Matt break down Week 6 of Mountain West play which is a full set of conference games with all 12 teams in action. Who would have thought that San Jose State vs. UNLV could be an early decider for the West Divison this year. Fresno State vs. Boise State was to be some elite game but now both teams enter with questions with new quarterbacks and part of a coaching staff for the Broncos.
There is also the Norvell Bowl on Friday night with Nevada taking on Colorado State in a game between two not-so-great teams. San Diego State host Hawaii and the goal is likely to have Braxton Burmeister be healthy and finish the game under center.

2022 Mountain West Football Week 4 Preview Part 1
Jeremy and Matt break up the Week 4 games in two parts to give everyone a more enjoyable podcast experience. We go through the two Friday games that include Air Force vs. Nevada in a very interesting conference tilt. The Falcons are coming off of a surprising loss to Wyoming, and the Wolf Pack are finally back home after an extended game at Iowa which saw them shut out and a game take about seven hours to complete. Boise State looks to get on track with another winnable game at UTEP in an old WAC matchup.
On Saturday, the first two games are San Diego State hosting Toledo as a home underdog. The Aztecs have some things to fix during this game on both sides of the ball. The other game has Colorado State on upset alert vs. FCS No., 7 Sacramento State.

Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the 2022 UNLV football season. Head coach Marcus Arroyo is heading into his third year on the job and looking to improve off of his two-win season. The Rebels have two new coordinators, a quarterback battle, they need to replace their best running back ever and lost two key defenders this past year.
UNLV has some hope if they can be healthy under center plus they have the potential to have a pretty good receiving group surrounding Kyle Williams. The offensive line is full of transfers but the overall biggest concern is the defense and if they can be better than one of the worst 15 units in all of college football.
They were close last year in games with six losses by one score. Get a few of those back and this team should be able to double its two wins from last year.

Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the 2022 San Diego State football season. The Aztecs are back from a 12-2 West Division championship team and looking to win the title this year. They do have some replacements to fill with a new quarterback, new running back, a pair of NFL offensive linemen, and a handful of defenders to step in.
Based on history and recruiting, the Aztecs should be fine and odds are not really losing a step. It may take a moment for them to gather their footing with Virginia Tech QB transfer Braxton Burmeister taking over, a new-ish offensive line and Chace Bell being RB1.

How does UCLA, USC's move to the Big Ten impact the Mountain West?
Jeremy and Matt have an emergency podcast to discuss how the massive news about USC and UCLA packing up their bags and going to the Big Ten for the 2024 season. This clearly makes the Pac-12 lesser of a league with the biggest brand of USC leaving town and a big market team in UCLA. The Mountain West has options and it might be best to just stand pat and not be extremely aggressive.
If the conference is going to add teams, it likely would come from Pac-12 and/or Big 12 leftovers. Those two leagues are likely to be fighting it out for survival, so the Mountain West could see what is left over, or perhaps just not make a move.
This also has a shift in college football with super league coming together sooner than later as this is a big money grab for UCLA and USC.

2022 Colorado State Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the 2022 Colorado State football season. The Rams have the chance to be the most interesting team in the Mountain West with a new head coach in Jay Norvell who comes over from Nevada. The Norvell hire was a shrewd but an amazing move from the higher ups at the Rams.
A lot of players followed Norvell from Nevada, especially on the offensive side of the ball. The Rams do need a quarterback, running back, and strengthening the offensive line. There is talent there but a few question marks with transfers. Defensively, they bring in the DC Freddie Banks from Montana State and led a defense that was one of the best at that level.

Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the 2022 Utah State football season as Blake Anderson enters his second year in Logan. Repeating as champions will be difficul but not out of the question for the Aggies. They return one of the best quarterbacks in Logan Bonner, there is a healthy Calvin Tyler at running back and a deep offensive line, but finding a new star receiver is the biggest offensive question.
The defense losses some talent but it is a deep unit and despite losing about half of their starters it should be a solid unit, and the one potential weak link is the secondary that replaces three starters.

The Cowboys will be an interesting team as they lost many players to the transfer portal and a handful to Power 5 programs, but they also received interest and commits through the portal to offset what they lost. The quarterback is a big issue as they lost their first- and second-signal caller to the portal. The defense also took a hit by losing multiple players to graduation and the NFL Draft. The one big question always remains and that is can Wyoming have a passing game just a little bit better to go alongside a traditionally very good defense.

Jeremy and Andy are back to take a look at Mountain West hoops with the race for a bye heating up and also what is next for the top two teams in Boise State and Wyoming. The Cowboys snapped the Broncos winning streak and the two are at the top of the league with a single loss in league play apiece.
They also discuss how the Mountain West needs to better promote its games and maybe even make a switch to have better games off of Stadium and on television. Both of the Wyoming vs. Boise State games were free on Stadium, but that just requires an extra step to watch and then to get the game on a TV over a mobile device.
They also take a look at some of the bigger games that got rescheduled due to the various COVID-19 pauses throughout the league.

Things did not go well for Todd Graham or athletic director David Matlin for what was said. 2021 Hawaii Bowl Preview: Memphis vs. Hawaii

2021 Mountain West bowl recap part 1
Matt and Jeremy are back to recap the first two bowl games of the Mountain West postseason. Fresno State came from behind to defeat UTEP in the New Mexico Bowl and behind a very good performance from running back Jordan Mims.
Utah State topped Oregon State in the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl and were led by backup QB Cooper Legas who hit a touchdown strike on his first college football pass.

Jeremy and Matt are joined freelance journalist Marc Delucchi who wrote an excellent piece at SFGate.com regarding Hawaii football and some of the internal issues that players are having with head coach Todd Graham.
The situation is not good as many players are in the transfer portal which includes multiple starters such as QB Chevan Cordeiro and RB Dae Dae Hunter. There is a strife between players and Graham in how he treats certain players on this team which is not good, and it has caused some players to just give up football due to his actions. Yet, the response from Graham and even some local media is not reassuring that change will happen.

Colorado State poaches Nevada's Jay Norvell as its next head coach
Jeremy and Josh are back again to discuss Colorado State's ruthless hire of bringing in Jay Norvell to be its next head coach. Norvell was previously Nevada's head coach and this is the first time in the Mountain West that a head coach has taken the same job within the league.
Resources are a big reason why this move was made as Norvell was making $625,000 per which ranked near the very bottom of the Mountain West coaches. Colorado State pays a lot more and will give him over a million dollars per year.
There is also the commitment to football that seemingly is higher up on the priority at Colorado State than Nevada.

2021 Mountain West Football Title Game Recap
Jeremy and Matt are back to recap the unexpected result of the 2021 Mountain West football title game which saw Utah State win 46-13 over San Diego State. There is a lot that went on in that game including San Diego State having 20 players -- majority reserves -- out due to COVID-19 and/or contact tracing. The Aggies played arguably their best game and the Aztecs did not which led to the blowout result.
Everything basically went right for Utah State and their gameplan and specifically on offense going downfield in the passing game. The Aztecs uncharacteristically had special teams issues.

Week 12 Mountain West Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the five conference games this week in Mountain West play and it all gets started on Friday night with an interesting Air Force vs. Nevada game. The loser is all but out of their respective division race as each have two losses. This is a game where the Wolf Pack must figure out how to stop the Falcons ground attack if they are going to win.
UNLV hosts San Diego State in a rare 8:30 p.m. PT kick off and this one likely will not be close. The same can be said for Boise State vs. New Mexico. The Lobos are still without quarterback Terry Wilson and that will cause some issues. Hawaii hosts Colorado State in an interesting game on the islands that could get weird.
Wyoming vs. Utah State has the potential to get out of hand if the Aggies offense continues to play like it has the past few weeks. The Cowboys defense is good but it will need to be really good to keep pace with the Aggies.

Week 0 Recap; Early Week 1 Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to recap Week 0 which featured three games in the Mountain West, plus we get into the early Week 1 games that are Thursday and Friday.
In the openers, we go over what we liked in Fresno State's 45-0 victory over UConn as it showed the defense and offensive line are doing well, even if against a bad team. Hawaii looked lackluster and had the same problems as last year in its 44-10 loss to UCLA, then San Jose State seemingly found every receiver open in its easy win over Southern Utah.
Week 1 of the early game is mostly FCS matchups but the big one is Boise State traveling to UCF in a much anticipated matchup of Group of 5 powers. Expect the game to feature a lot of points and really good quarterback play, but it might come down to what defense can make a stop.

This second year allowed him to have a standard spring and fall camp heading into 2021. 2021 New Mexico Football Preview
Matt and Jeremy are back to take a look at the second year of the Danny Gonzales era which got off to a better than expected start during the pandemic-filled 2020 season. Matt and Jeremy are back to preview the Air Force Falcons upcoming season. The Falcons offense is what it is with a run-option element as its highest priority and success. Air Force does lose its entire offensive line, including a pair of offensive lineman who were all-league players. The running game should be fine and led by Brad Roberts but there are some concerns. 2021 Colorado State Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the 2021 Colorado State football season. 2020 was basically a "whatever" season in which they played just four games with a 1-3 record. It is hard to take too much from Steve Addazio's first year due to the lack of games.
There is a lot of potential on the defensive side of the ball and it could be one of the better units in the conference. The offense has some concerns with the lack of running game from last year and an offensive line that returns nearly everyone back it was not good last year. QB play could have issues with Todd Centenio who has been a career backup and when he played last year was not accurate and just overall was below average.

2021 Nevada Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are here to begin the journey to previewing the 2021 Mountain West college football season. The first team were are previewing is the Nevada Wolf Pack as chosen by our twitter followers. The Wolf Pack are expected to have a really good year with the majority of its team back and led by its offense of QB Carson Strong, WR Romeo Doubs, RB Toa Taua and a whole lot more. The defense showed improvement from 2019 to 2020 and if that can improve a little bit more then this team has the potential to be an elite college football team. The two go through the position groups and try to find their weaknesses, as there are few and far between. They go through the schedule which is not going to be easy with the road slate being very tough with games at Cal, Kansas State, Boise State, Colorado State, San Diego State and Fresno State. There were just three players taken in San Diego State's Darren Hall who was selected by the Atlanta Falcons as was Boise State's Avery Williams. 2021 NCAA Tournament Preview: Can San Diego State, Utah State advance?
Andy and Jeremy are back to preview San Diego State vs. Syracuse and Utah State vs. Texas Tech as they look to advance in the NCAA Tournament. New Mexico finds its coach, UNLV loses a coach
Jeremy, Andy and Larry are back to take a look at the Mountain West coaching searches that came to an end and others that are heating up. New Mexico landed on Richard Pitino who was recently let go at Minnesota after another subpar year. He is becoming a Lobo partly due to his connection with New Mexico AD Eddie Nunez and also Bill Donovan who was Nunez's coach when Donovan was winning national titles at Florida. The move makes sense in that regards and Pitino is a fine hire as there were worse options out there but not many that were really better. It came down to Tim Miles who most recently was at Nebraska and helped build up Colorado State before. Overall, it was a nice hire.
The move that almost came out of nowhere was T.J. Otzelberger leaving UNLV for the Iowa State job. This was a move up despite Otzelberger having a 29-30 record in his two years in Las Vegas. Opting out of conference tournaments present wild scenarios
Andy and Jeremy are back to talk some Mountain West hoops, or really just college basketball with Gonzaga and BYU in the WCC possibly not playing in the conference tournament which could cause some interesting scenarios like would that league still award its automatic bid to the conference tournament champion without its two best teams? That is when things get weird if that happens and bids are stolen.
How would the Mountain West handle this if say San Diego State or the highest rated NET team did this?
They do discuss the Jalen Johnson news about if he really quit or opted out of a season during a pandemic, it can be both.
There is one big series this week with Boise State taking on Utah State and we are bummed that Colorado State and Nevada series is not going to be played this week.

Arizona Bowl recap, transfers/returns, Boise State coaching search
Jeremy and Matt are back to recap the Arizona Bowl which saw San Jose State dropping its only game of the year to Ball State. The Spartans were without five starters and both of their coordinators for undisclosed reasons. The first quarter was bad and it was too much to overcome a 27-point deficit.

San Diego State Should Be Ranked; Boise State Is About To Start Winning A lot
Jeremy and Andy are back to go over the last week-plus of Mountain West hoops. There were not a lot of games over the break so the movement in our power poll is minimal. They go over the hilarious results which feature St. Mary's crushing and being crushed by the Mountain West.
Boise State is not ranked but their schedule plays out nicely and could realistically be 20-1 heading into its final two series when they play San Diego State and Utah State.

Previewing Arizona Bowl between Ball State and San Jose State
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the final Mountain West bowl game which features San Jose State taking on MAC champion Ball State in the Arizona Bowl. There is the chance that this game could see a lot of points as that is what these two teams are known for.

Early Mountain West bowl recaps; Boise State football needs a new head coach
Jeremy and Matt are back to go over the first two bowl games which saw the Mountain West go 2-0 vs. AAC with Nevada defeating Tulane and Hawaii over Houston. These were both considered upsets as the Wolf Pack and Warriors were underdogs according to the point spread. They look into the future for both programs and opine who will be back in 2021.

2020 Mountain West Football Week 14 Recap
Jeremy and Matt are back to recap Week 14 of Mountain West play. There were some wild games that started on Thursday with Air Force getting some key players back in their win over Utah State.
Then a wild Saturday saw San Jose State's hot start help them hold off Hawaii's rally. San Diego State used special teams to get the win over Colorado State in which neither offense played all that great. Nevada beat Fresno State despite being behind in most statistics, but chalk this one up to the Bulldogs being down kickers, punters, and other key special team players.
New Mexico put up a big defensive effort to upset Wyoming and give Danny Gonzales his first ever FBS win and the Lobos first since Sept. of 2019.
Also, the two go over the tiebreaker scenarios within the Mountain West.

2020 Mountain West Football Week 14 Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview Week 14 of Mountain West football which includes one less game now that Boise State and UNLV has been canceled and under odd wording from the Mountain West and both schools. The first game is on Thursday with Utah State taking on Air Force and this will be the Falcons first game in a few weeks as they did not play last week.
The Saturday slate is full of four games and it starts with San Jose State now going to Hawaii to play its game due to restrictions in its own county, and this game should feature so many points and be an exciting matchup. San Diego State and Colorado State likely could be a low scoring game and be a defensive matchup.
Fresno State and Nevada could be the highest scoring game of the week and the Bulldogs are back in action for the first time in three weeks. The final game is Wyoming vs. New Mexico in Las Vegas and should be a fairly easy win for the Cowboys as they have the edge in nearly every position.

Week 13 Mountain West Football Recap
Jeremy and Matt are back to recap Week 13 of Mountain West football which featured a few cancellations, including the big game between San Jose State and Boise State. They go over Utah State's first win of the year which saw them have an offensive explosion over the Lobos. Speaking of New Mexico, head coach Danny Gonzales is not happy at all about his teams performance.
Wyoming coming off missing two games had an easy win behind the ground game which had no issues vs. UNLV in the win. San Diego State opted for a non-conference game vs. Colorado and came up short due to the offense not being able to move the ball on offense.
Hawaii vs. Nevada in the night cap saw the Warriors defensive coaches force the Wolf Pack away from what they like to do most in throwing the ball. The running game was there from the Wolf Pack but it was not enough as there were also penalty issues that really ended up hurting them as Hawaii knocked off an undefeated Nevada.

2020 Week 13 Mountain West Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the Week 13 slate of games for the Mountain West. We recorded before it was announced that Air Force and Colorado State was canceled so you get a bonus preview this week.
The other game canceled is San Diego State vs. Fresno State.
The games we actually get to start with the winless New Mexico Lobos vs. the Utah State Aggies where someone has to win on Thanksgiving day. There will be a new starter under center for the Aggies which may or may not make the difference.
Wyoming and UNLV are back on the field in a game that might appear lopsided from the record but overall it may be fairly close.
The game of the weekend is San Jose State at Boise State with a fairly clear path for the title game by the winner, also this game is on regular old FOX.
The night cap could be an exciting one on the islands with Nevada bringing in its high-powered offense against Hawaii which if things go well could go point-for-point.

Week 12 Mountain West Football Recap
Jeremy and Matt are back to go over the three Mountain West football games from this past weekend as three games were canceled due to COVID-19. The first game of the week saw Air Force shut out New Mexico 28-0 in a game that the Lobos had so many chances to make this game a whole lot closer.
Nevada over San Diego State was the game of the weekend which saw the Wolf Pack top the Aztecs 26-21 in a classic game which came down to the final play of the weekend.
The final game was a 40-32 win by Boise State over Hawaii. This game was looking like a blowout until the Warriors defense made a fourth quarterback comeback that ultimately came up short.

Jeremy and Matt are back to preview Week 11 of Mountain West football. For starters, the Air Force vs. Wyoming game has unfortunately been canceled. Colorado State and New Mexico take to the field for the first time after their game last week was canceled, and the Lobos had to go on the road to face San Jose State due to COVID-19 restrictions in the state of New Mexico. One interesting note about this game is that every team that was on the road was a favorite but that changed with the Spartans now hosting the Lobos, but regardless it is still an interesting note. A few things to watch are who will Colorado State and UNLV play at quarterback, can Hawaii win for the first time since 1991 at Wyoming, and will Air Force be at full strength on the offensive line. Also, does Boise State need to steamroll its opponents to move up into the rankings.

2020 San Diego State Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the 2020 San Diego State Football team. The Aztecs are one of many teams in the league with a new head coach in Brady Hoke, who is being promoted from within after Rocky Long stepped down. The big questions for San Diego State's offense is finding a new starting quarterback and what running back will step up. There are options at both positions and players with experience but who will rise to the challenge is the question.
The Aztecs defense has the chance to be real special, especially those at the defensive line position. There is talent lost at the linebacker and the cornerback positions, but the safeties are bringing nearly everyone back and should also be a force. Overall, the schedule plays out with a lot of winnable games but there are many that could go either way. So, the record could fluctuate between bowl eligible and an elite team.

2020 Fresno State Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the 2020 Fresno State football season. The Bulldogs have a new head coach in Kalen DeBoer but he is no stranger to Fresno State fans as he was the offensive coordinator during the 2018-19 seasons which saw Fresno State go to a pair of Mountain West title games.
The offense will have a new quarterback which should be better than last year in the race to replace Jorge Renya and it should be an upgrade for whoever gets the job. The running back group is deep with Ronnie Rivers and the return of Jordan Mimms from injury. The wide out group is deep but an emerging star is still up in the air.
The defense was not up to standards in 2019 and with returning talent like linebacker Justin Rice who is one of the best defenders in the league, and the defense should take a step forward and no longer be near the bottom of the Mountain West but rather improve to at least average, if not better.

GAME PREVIEW: Air Force vs. Navy
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the first Mountain West game of the year which is Air Force vs. Navy on Saturday, Oct. 3, and a full three weeks before the Mountain West begins its play. We breakdown this game which is quite interesting since there are about 30 players from the Falcons that are taking "turn backs" which means they will not be enrolled this season in able to play in 2021. The majority of those are on defense which already was young and all five expected five starters. Also, the quarterback situation is not good with Donald Hammond III not playing and the two in consideration have basically no experience. The good part for Air Force is that Navy is not really good this year and their rushing attack is not what it usually is and is underperforming and that gives Air Force a chance to win.

Mountain West Football Is Back!!
Jeremy and Matt are back to chat about how the Mountain West made the announcement that college football is back and the league will play an eight-game schedule starting on Oct. 24.
There are a lot of unknowns like what will the schedule look like over the eight games and when it will be announced. Air Force is going to play Army and Navy which is leading to the real possibility of Boise State playing BYU in early November.
Commissioner Craig Thompson said that he expects games to be missed and that the conference could do away with divisions and have the best two teams by winning percentage play for the title.
We discuss bowl options, what a schedule will look like, and what really changed from the initial decision on Aug. 10 to not play college football this fall.

2020 San Jose State and UNLV team previews
Jeremy and Matt are back to take a look at what have been for the UNLV and San Jose State's football season. These were the two teams we did not get to before the Mountain West decided cancel the fall season. We go through each team and what could have been by going through the rosters of each team. A big takeaway was that San Jose State has things going in the right direction and could have caused some noise in 2020. UNLV would under a new head coach has a lot to work on, especially a defense that has given up over 30 points per game for basically forever.
We start the show discussing some news with New Mexico which is being sued by the family of Nahje Flowers who took his own life and the lawsuit alleges that head coach Bob Davie overruled doctors that said Flowers should not be playing but was forced to anyways.

Mountain West announces new football schedule; will the season go on?

Colorado State football facing myriad of allegiations
Matt and Jeremy are joined by our Colorado State writer Josh Fredlund to discuss the allegations put on the Colorado State. The issues started with COVID-19 protocols allegedly being violated by the coaching staff. That started an investigation but that was not all. There are also allegations of racial issues within the program. There are a lot of players and coaches who back new head coach Steve Addazio so there is something going on in the program. There is a lot to figure out and the school is looking into the football department and the athletic department as this is not all encompassed within the athletic department.

2020 Boise State Football Preview
Matt and Jeremy are back to preview the 2020 Boise State season. As of now, the Broncos have a full 12-game slate so we preview as normal. While this Boise State team does return 11 starts back from both sides of the ball there seems to not be any regression and possibly even an improvement over last year.
The quarterback spot is one of the deepest in the league with starter Hank Bachmeier returning for his second year and he should take a big step forward, assuming he remains healthy. Running back is deep as well led by George Holani also heading into his sophomore season, the wide receiving group does lose talent but there is talent back. The offensive line and defensive line are the biggest question marks heading into the season. The former while losing four starters had plenty of backups who started in 2019, plus a few transfers who will help shore up that line.
The defense loses some big names and usually every year there is a name that people aren't really familiar with that step…

2020 Nevada Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the Nevada Wolf Pack team. This Nevada squad brings back a lot of its talent from last year and couple that with a strong November and this team could be in contention to win the West Division. The team now has just one quarterback in Carson Strong and he is entrenched as the starter and he did play in 10 games last year. There are other pieces as well that include one of the best WR's in Elijah Cooks, the entire offensive line returns and its two top running backs. That should be a success for a breakout offensive season.
The defense returns 10 starters and if they can build upon consistency and be about average then that will allow the Wolf Pack to make a bowl game and challenge for a Mountain West title.

2020 Air Force Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the Air Force football season which is already down one game with the Purdue cancelation. The Falcons do lose a lot of talent, eight total starters, but their offense returns their key players in two of the best offensive lineman around, QB Donald Hammond III, and its top two running backs. 2020 Utah State Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the 2020 Utah State which is a team that has a unique identity for this upcoming year. There is a new quarterback in Henry Colombi, a new starting running back in potential breakout star Jaylen Warren, the defense is brand new and there is a new offensive coordinator in Bodie Reeder who comes over from North Texas.
The schedule could be the biggest hurdle for the Aggies team in making a bowl game. They have Washington, Washington State and BYU in non-league play, and in the two cross-division games are San Diego State and Nevada. Looking at games in a vaccum there are a lot of winnable games but the layout of the schedule does not help.
There is no key returning defender for the Aggies but there is usually a standout everyone will know, but we just don't have a real good idea who that can be. Also, head coach Gary Andersen is relying on a number of transfers to fill the defensive holes. This season could be wild for Utah State.

With players back for workouts in a small and divided group, there are still people resting positive for COVID-19 and these are non-contact workouts. How can the season go on as planned if non-contact activities cause some COVID-19 positive tests? What goes on when there has to be physical contact to play actual football.
There will be an attempt to have a normal season but it will be tough if the virus keeps spreading the season will be shortened, condensed and, who knows, maybe even canceled.

2020 Hawaii Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the Hawaii Warriors 2020 football team which will, if nothing else, be an exciting team to watch in the Mountain West. They have a new head coach in Todd Graham and also lost a lot of offensive talent in Cole McDonald and the top three wide receivers but there is potential with who is returning and replacing those players. There is the go-go offense which people should look up and get to know and that unique style of play. As for the defense, they just need to take a small step up to help this team overall. The defensive line need more of a pass rush or disruption to help out the entire unit.
Hawaii has the talent to be a contender in the West Division if things go well and repeat as division champs.

2020 New Mexico Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the 2020 New Mexico Lobos football season. The Lobos have moved on from the Bob Davie-era and made a great hire in Danny Gonzales who is a former Lobo coach and player. This hire was very popular with the Lobos fans as was being able to get back Rocky Long to the staff as he is the defensive coordinator.
This team has some potential but with a lot of questions. Quarterback is up in the air but there is a lean toward Tevaka Tuioti who has the most experience and is the only New Mexico signal-caller to complete more than 50 percent of his passes. The top-five pass catchers are back and the running game has a lot of questions but options to tote the ball.
The defense has some real issues with players transferring and overall not being that great, specifically in its pass defense. That is where Long and Gonzales come in as defensive coaches to get these players ready. This team likely won't go bowling but they will be an interesting team to watch.

Matt and Jeremy are back to preview the 2020 Wyoming Cowboys football season. This Wyoming team has a lot of potential and even the loss of the multiple NFL Draft picks, this team can still be in the running for the Mountain Division title. The Cowboys do need to settle out its quarterback situation between Levi Williams and Sean Chambers, plus the wide receiving group needs new faces. The defense could be as good as 2019 as the backups who were making plays in a limited role will now have a larger spot on the team and become potential all-conference players.

2020 NFL Draft: How did the Mountain West perform?

The big question of the draft from a Mountain West perspective is where Utah State quarterback Jordan Love will get drafted. 2020 Mountain West Tournament Recap
Jeremy and Andrew are back to go over the Mountain West tournament which saw No. 11 Wyoming makes a tournament run and Utah State coming from behind to defeat San Diego State for its second straight tournament title. We go through the games with what surprised us and disappointed us through the games. We chat how UNLV's seasons went in T. J. Otzelberger's first year on the job and how he overachieved a bit.
We get into NCAA Tournament seeding with San Diego State and whether they would rather get that No. 1 seed out East or stay close to home as a No. 2 seed. Also, there is some talk about covid-19 possibly changing the dynamic of the NCAA Tournament by playing games with no fans or even condensing the sites.

Mountain West Tournament Preview
Jeremy and Andrew are back to preview the 2020 Mountain West tournament which begins this week. The two go through the scenarios in the tournament and they both find a soft spot for Colorado State who could sort of play a spoiler in this event. They also go over the various all-conference awards and wonder what is the deal with San Diego State head coach Brian Dutcher who is complaining a lot for a likely No. 1 seed.
Also, all signs point to a two-bid Mountain West tournament, well as long as Utah State doesn't mess things up.

Spring football preview: Air Force, San Diego State, San Jose State
Jeremy and Matt are back to take a first look at Mountain West teams as spring football gets going. The three teams they discuss are Air Force, San Diego State, and San Jose State. All three have different issues, strengths, and weaknesses heading into the 2020 season. Air Force has depth issues at quarterback, a brand new set of wide receivers and some defensive concern. San Jose State does return all of its pass catchers but the big change is at quarterback with Josh Love graduating and in comes Arkansas transfer Nick Starkel to take over. San Diego State has a new coach with Rocky Long retiring and Brady Hoke taking over. There is a new quarterback and the running game needs to be worked as last year was the worst in years.
