Nicholas Epley is the John Templeton Keller Professor of Behavior Science at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is the author of Mindwise: How We Understand What Others Think, Believe, Feel, and Want. He studies social cognition—how thinking people think about other thinking people—to understand why smart people so routinely misunderstand each other. We cover a wide range of topics including why we guess and make inferences so often, why our intuition about others is often incorrect, and how to remedy our incorrect assumptions.
