Washington native and Indian women's national freestyle coach Andy Cook
Play • 1 hr
When Andy Cook talks about his wrestling career, he doesn't hide the fact he didn't do the right things in college. After washing out his collegiate career and spending time away from the sport, Cook found his way back, eventually starting a club in the Pacific Northwest. A few years later, he was the head women's coach at Grays Harbor College in Aberdeen, Washington and on tours with Team USA. Now Cook finds himself in the lead women's coaching position with the Indian National Team. How does a club coach in Washington end up being the leader of a foreign national team? Find out more as I caught up with Andy at the 2019 Asian Wrestling Championships in Xi'an, China on Episode 506 of the Short Time Wrestling Podcast.
