Austin DeVoe, head coach at Colorado School of Mines, discusses the school's first conference championship
Play • 44 min
After wrestling for 96 years, Colorado School of Mines still hadn't ever won the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference title. On February 6, the Orediggers topped Colorado Mesa to claim a share of the regular season title, assuring the program of its first RMAC championship in school history. And just for stat nerds, Mines is the only original member of the conference, which was founded in 1909. On Episode 493 of the Short Time Wrestling Podcast, Colorado School of Mines head coach Austin DeVoe talks about this season, how his team has been building for the last two years and how he's assembled a team of smart wrestlers and smart coaches. You'll also learn the story of Blaster the Burro and the meatwad moniker. Get the Guide!
